Please use the scroll bar on the right to reach the bottom of the page where there is also a list of the papers written by the artist. 2006 - Ballardian publish Cat Hope's paper on Cronenberg's adaption of JG Ballard's novel "Crash". 2005 - Research grant from ECU approved for work with ROb Muir on the SOUNDS OF DECAY project, a 6 month residency at SymbioticA reseraching sounds from Forensic Science. a BEAPworks/ ArtsWA Research grant also granted for work with Rob Muir into mobile phone technology for sound art.Project entiteld METAPHONICA. 2003 - Cat has been invited to Time_Place_Place, a 2 week intensive new media workshop with 10 other artists from around Asutralia, facilitated by a selection of international artists. More on the results of this soon. Cat's participation in this project has been funded jointly by ArtsWA and the PICA new media Fund. 2003 - PICA Research and Development Grant for cAVity to investigate the D.A.C.S ( Digital Audio Control Skirt). The duo were artists in residence for a month in PICA and researched wireless technolgies to use on the garment to communicate with a remote projector and computer. Using ROMEO software, the wearer is also able to control a remote computer using a blue tooth enabled mobile phone! A paper on the DACS can be read here 2001- PICA Research and Development Grant to investigate serviellance technolgies in performance with video (Andrew Ewing) and movemnt (Rakini). This work culminated int he refinement of using small spy cameras for covert filming in different performance enviroments. 2000 - PICA Research and Development Grant to investigate the use of triggers and sensors in live performance with Lindsay Vickery. This work culminated in he development of a special MAX/DSP patch called the "Cat Looper" made especially for use with a remote keypad from the bass guitar.
